Holeigh Urquhart

Holeigh’s Approach

I’m Holeigh Urquhart (she/they), the founder of Sip & Psych, and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a Masters in Counselling Psychology.

I’ve been working in mental health for over 15 years and absolutely adore what I do. I practice from a strength-based approach with a focus on customizing techniques that best work for you.

When we work together I want you to feel heard, safe, and supported in an open judgment-free environment. I can promise you will be met with warmth, empathy, and acceptance from an inclusive-focused practitioner.

Communities we might have in common: queer, non-monogamous, neurodivergent, chronic pain/invisible disability.

Fun Facts

  • My first job was at a cafe at age 13. I’ve worked at 3 other cafes since then and loved being a barista.

  • I enjoy a simple coffee misto with oat milk

  • I’ve attended multiple cooking classes including courses in Thailand and India. My favorite way to connect with my friends & family is over food. And the most likely place you’ll find me on the weekend is checking out a new brunch spot or a patio with a cold drink in hand.

  • I’ve had many cats growing up and currently have two - Jack & Finn. You’ll likely see them pop up if we do virtual sessions. If you follow my instagram you’re likely to see their little furry faces there as well.

  • Pineapple, pepperoni, & hot peppers - yes I do believe pineapple belongs on pizza

  • Falling! An accident in my early teens left me with an arthritic left ankle so I’m scared to hurt anything else. (Also, if you see me walking a bit ‘off’ this is likely why).

“What I would have done to have heard a story like mine… not for money or power. But to feel less alone. I believe we could paint a better world if we learned how to see it from all perspectives, as many perspectives as we possibly could. Diversity is strength.”
